For this element of the assessment regime assume you are the Health and Safety Manager for Cut It Quickly.

Cut It Quickly is a multi-sited business that employs 150 in a variety of locations. The Core Business surrounds Nails Hairdressing and Beauty salons, undertaking a range of activities to provide the populations where they are sited with services related to these areas.

Just recently one of the outlets was visited by the Local Authority Enforcement team who have noticed a lack of hygiene in one of the salons. After speaking with the Local Salon Manager they have contacted you, as the Health and Safety Advisor for Cut It Quickly.

They have agreed to delay the serving of an improvement notice, until you have promised to undertake a full scale review of the premises and have been able to provide details of how Cut It Quickly will address the Health Issues they have informed you about.

The Local Authority Enforcement Team has asked that you deal with the ongoing problem of Dermatitis which they have told you is the most likely health hazard that your staff face.

After meeting with your external Human Resource advisor, you have asked the Enforcement Team if you can have time to address the next Local Meeting of the Salon managers. You have indicated that you are going to produce a policy on how the company Cut It Quickly will address the issue of ensuring Prevention of Dermatitis is going to be undertaken

You have been tasked with producing a report for the meeting that will:

Help to inform getting a policy agreed

Identify the causes of Dermatitis

Outline the general strategy for improving this situation

Gives details of how the strategy will be put into place to counter the problem of contracting Dermatitis

Sets out in general terms how the staff will be supported

Your report will be no more than 2500 words
