Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone’s week is going well!
Leadership in the strategic planning cycle is so crucial. Taking a look at the internal and external environments through the SWOT process lens can help us be successful. To start with “SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis is a framework used to evaluate a company’s competitive position and to develop strategic planning” (Kenton, 2022, para.1). Making a presentation regarding these two things there are a few points I would really hit on.
Starting with the internal environment analysis. In terms of the SWOT process we would have to go through and touch on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of our internal processes. With this process I would break down in the presentation by each category. Leadership would play a crucial role in my presentation for this because I believe they are the ones who can affect the analysis the most. They can help with internal issues and help mitigate the risks. I would make sure to hit on how leadership and managers are the most important in helping mitigate our threats and take the most advantage of our internal opportunities. Management in terms of internal environment analysis and implementation are so important.
Now to move onto our external environment analysis. In terms of external environment there are a few things that can influence the process. I think threats are a big part of the SWOT analysis when taking a look at the external environment. According to the article we read for class it states “New entrants can be a threat to traditional NGOs in the sector and may outperform them in terms of efficiency and cost” (Schwenger, 2014). This shows how new entrants can always threaten any organization in the market. This means that we would have to focus on our organization being efficient and putting out quality work. This is where it comes back to management and leadership. Making sure we are efficient and putting out good work comes down to our managers helping our employees reach their most potential and always trying to get the best out of them. Good management will always help any organization stay afloat. Overall, these are the points I would touch on the most and where leadership plays the most role in the strategic planning cycle and the SWOT analysis of internal and external environments.
Best,
Austin

Hello to everyone.
I hope everyone is having a good week!
Leadership is critical during the strategic planning cycle. Looking at the internal and external environments through the prism of the SWOT approach can help us succeed. To begin, “SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) is a framework used to evaluate a company’s competitive position and establish strategic planning” (Kenton, 2022, para.1). There are a few aspects I would emphasize if I had to give a presentation on these two topics.
Begin with an examination of the internal surroundings. In terms of the SWOT analysis, we would need to look over our internal processes’ strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. With this method, I would be able to
