Question 1. Many political observers are concerned about the effect politically biased news sources have on the electorate. Describe five different ways in which a media source could be biased. To what extent are biased news sources different from the traditional media and its news norms? Do you think that biased political news impacts cynicism, trust in government, and/or political efficacy? (If so, how? If not, why not?)

Question 2. What are some common conclusions in the literature about politicians’ responsiveness to public opinion? When are the two congruent and when might they contradict each other? In what areas do politicians respond to citizens’ sentiments better and in what areas they do worse? Is it dangerous for politicians to act without consideration for the opinions of voters? Give examples where this would or would not be an issue
