select one key issue of instructional leadership and conduct a search of
education organizational web pages. Your issue may be one that you
have little or no knowledge of and/or little or no experience with; or, it
may be one with which you are quite knowledgeable and where you can
share your expertise.
Below are some suggested topics, though you may select any topic you
choose. If you are unsure whether your topic is appropriate, check with
your instructor early in the week.
● Incorporating a culturally relevant pedagogy in the classroom
● Effective grouping—alternatives to tracking
● Bilingual/ESL instruction and programs for English Language
Learners (ELLs)
● Reaching out to the community to support school initiatives
● Successfully involving parents in their child’s academic program
● Forming successful professional learning communities among
faculty/staff
● Leading schools during and after catastrophes
Take on the role of a leader, and then create a presentation for
teachers at your school on the issue you have researched.
Address the following in your presentation:
● Provide the following for a chosen issue:
● Identify the type of issue
● Summarize the points used to communicate it.
● Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the issue.

leadership, and academic success. Use the resources provided in
the course.
● Provide clear examples and/or resources to support your
assertions.
● Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as
well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be
comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
Length: 12-15 slides (with a separate reference slide).
Notes Length: 150-300 words for each slide.
References: Have a minimum of five scholarly references, published
within the last five years, to support your assertions in addition to the
organizational web pages you use.
Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with
references in APA format and style where appropriate.
Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the
ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new
thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should
reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
