Select a quantitative study and evaluate its abstract or literature review. There are no study design requirements (can be experimental, quasi-experimental, or non-experimental). The study must be quantitative, and it cannot be a literature review, systematic review, or meta-analysis. Based on your critique of the abstract or the literature review, assign a rating for the abstract or literature review using the Primer for Critiquing Sections of a Research Article Download Primer for Critiquing Sections of a Research Article.

Using your critique and rating, develop a 4 minute presentation where you will provide your rating and justification of your rating. During the live session, be prepared to discuss evidence in the article that supports your rating and Assessment of the abstract or literature review.

You may use slides (Powerpoint) or other visual tools in your presentation.

Suggestions on the structure of the presentation:

· 1st slide: title the 1st slide Abstract or Literature Review Critique (use Abstract or Literature Review)

· 2nd slide: provide the article title

· 3rd slide: provide the background or rationale for the study and the purpose of the study (a reminder that the rationale and purpose of the study are distinctly different–they are not the same. The rationale is the reason in particular that the authors conducted the study. The purpose of the study statement states what the authors sought out to do in the study.)

· 4th slide: provide your rating of the Abstract or the Literature Review

· Remaining slides: elaborate on the justification for your rating providing evidence or specific examples from the article.

· Last slide: Article citation in APA

*Note. If wanting to use a previous study (for example 7.3–critique of the literature review) for this assignment, the abstract must be critiqued for this assignment (and not the literature review). Or if wanting to use a previous study from a past assignment (where the abstract was critiqued), the abstract cannot be critiqued for this assignment (the literature review must be critiqued for this assignment). However, use of a previous study is not

It can’t be a literature review, systematic review, or meta-analysis, and it has to be quantitative. Using the Primer for Critiquing Sections of a Research Article, assign a rating to the abstract or literature review based on your critique of the abstract or literature review.
