There are a few ways that theorists explain schizophrenia. Two of the models that are used by theorists are biological and sociocultural models to help explain schizophrenia. The reasons for this would be- biological is involved because when biological aspects are involved (parents having schizophrenia) there are genes involved in the passing of the disorder (Comer & Comer, 2021). Sociocultural aspects would be including social aspects of the disorder, including their environment and their family behaviors and personal aspects. I personally think biological is the best model that explained the disorder, I have cases of schizophrenia and it seemed to be passed down from generation to generation for a little while. Since the biological model has more research and information behind it, I believe that is a main reason why it is the best model to explain.

Theorists explain schizophrenia in a variety of ways. The biological and sociocultural theories are two of the concepts employed by theorists to explain schizophrenia. The reasons for this are biological, because when biological components (parents with schizophrenia) are involved, there are genes involved in the disorder’s transmission (Comer & Comer, 2021). Social characteristics of the condition, such as their environment and family behaviors, as well as personal aspects, would be included in sociocultural aspects. I believe that the biological model best explains the condition because I have seen cases of schizophrenia that appeared to be passed down from generation to generation for a short time. I feel the biological model is superior because it is based on more study and data.
