Policy manuals provide reference and guidance to educators about different decisions and actions that apply in a school district. School boards determine the policies and procedures, and administrators execute and enforce those policies and procedures.
Assume you have been asked to serve on the Ethics Committee at your school district. The committee chair has asked you to review existing policies concerning legal and ethical behavior in schools. The purpose of this policy review is two-fold. First, there have been some issues at several schools, and the district wants to send a message that reiterates relevant policies. Second, the committee has tasked itself with identifying potentially outdated policies and getting them updated.
