2. Then, carefully read the report at the end where it gives you a “moral parsimony score”. Pay special attention to their explanation of “moral parsimony” in the first paragraph of your report (same page as your score). What do they mean by “moral parsimony”? Do not Google “parsimony” because you’ll probably find a very different use of the term – coming from the field of economics. Instead, read their explanation carefully and note what this score is intended to reference. (It is not intended to be a “morality” score, right?)
3. When you’re ready, answer these questions in the Discussion Board forum this week:
a. What is “moral parsimony” according to this report? Take the time to carefully read the explanation of “moral parsimony” provided in the “Analysis” page at the end. It’s in the first paragraph after your score. (Don’t just look up “parsimony” because you’ll get the wrong answer – probably in terms of economics and out of context.) Read the explanation carefully and then try to explain this concept in your own words.
b. Now that you’ve defined what “moral parsimony” means here, do you think your score was a fair representation of your moral parsimony? Why or why not?
c. Are you comfortable with having this moral parsimony score? Why or why not? (Hint: There may be benefits and drawbacks to both a high and low score!)
