Discussion: ACA high cost of health care
Discussion: ACA high cost of health care
Health care has became more and more expensive over the past
decades and more people are finding that they cannot afford to
pay for medical visits to the doctor. When patients visit the
emergency room and they do not have insurance they are given a
bill for thousands of dollars that they cannot afford to pay and are
left with paying monthly instalments to lessen the bill. With more
people not able to afford the bills for their medical needs an act
was passed to help control the cost of medical services. In 2010
the Affordable Care act was implemented to help Americans with
the high cost of health care. This act has been changed over the
past ten years to further help people in need and provide services
to them. Since this act has been in effect access to health care has
increased difficulty with affording health care has decreased
Kobayashi, Altindag, Truskinovsky, & Berkman (2019). By
expanding the options that low income families can have when
choosing healthcare plans, the cost of the services has decreased
and health care is more accessible. With some patients not able
to afford healthcare it is left to the nurse to help get them the
resources needed to acquire Helpance (Rector, 2018). Nurses can
find ways of getting patients discount medications which is a big
help when some patients are living on fixed incomes.Paper
requires a minimum of two references: one from a peer-reviewed
english NURSING journal (less than 5 years-old) and one from the
course textbook. Professional, governmental, or educational
