Medications: Some medications, such as sedatives or medications that affect blood pressure, can cause dizziness or balance issues, increasing the risk of falls.
Environmental factors: Wet floors, cluttered areas, or poor lighting can all contribute to falls.
Age: Older patients are more prone to falls due to age-related factors such as reduced vision, decreased strength and balance, and the use of multiple medications.
Chronic conditions: Patients with chronic conditions such as Parkinson’s disease or multiple sclerosis may be at increased risk for falls due to impaired mobility and balance.
Fatigue: Patients who are tired or not getting enough sleep may be more prone to falls.
