I. HPI and Clinical Impression

GM is a 45-year-old African American working mother of 3 children who has been diagnosed with GDD.
She reports experiencing symptoms of depression, including feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and lack of interest in activities.
She is currently on medication and receiving psychotherapy.
Appetite and sleep are reported as good and there are no suicidal ideations
II. Psychopharmacologic Treatment

Recommendation: SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) such as Sertraline or Fluoxetine

Achieve remission of symptoms of depression as measured by the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D)
