For DQ1, I would evaluate a clinical preventative intervention called the “Text4Baby” program. This program uses text message reminders to promote maternal and child health for pregnant women and new mothers. The program sends weekly text messages with information on prenatal care, labor and delivery, and child development. The program has been shown to be successful in increasing knowledge of maternal and child health among participating women, as well as increasing the number of prenatal care visits and the number of women who receive flu and pertussis vaccinations.

For DQ2, to integrate appropriate information and communication technologies for the Text4Baby program, the program could be expanded to include a mobile app that allows women to access additional resources and information, such as videos and articles on maternal and child health. Additionally, the program could include a feature that allows women to communicate with a healthcare provider through the app for questions or concerns. This would improve nursing practice and care delivery for individuals and populations by providing more comprehensive and easily accessible resources for maternal and child health.
