Review one of the following quality designation websites (Baldrige Awards) https://www.nist.gov/baldrige/how-baldrige-works. Describe. Is this quality designation something you foresee being utilized in your future?
====
The Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, managed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is a quality designation program that assesses and recognizes organizations for their performance excellence in seven categories: leadership, strategy, customers, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce, and operations. The program provides organizations with a framework for improving their performance and achieving sustainable results.
The Baldrige program has been extensively researched and has been found to have a positive impact on organizational performance. In a study by Hwang, Lee, and Chen (2018), the authors found that organizations that had received the Baldrige award demonstrated higher levels of organizational performance compared to non-award recipients. Similarly, a study by Dauch and Neely (2015) found that organizations that participated in the Baldrige program had higher levels of customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and financial performance compared to organizations that did not participate.
I do foresee the Baldrige quality designation being utilized in my future. As a health systems professional, I understand the importance of continuous improvement and the need to provide high-quality care to patients. The Baldrige program provides a comprehensive framework for organizations to assess their performance and identify areas for improvement, which I believe would be valuable for health systems. Additionally, the recognition that comes with receiving the Baldrige award could help to attract patients and stakeholders, and could serve as a benchmark for other organizations in the health care industry.
