• You will list a full reference for each source in alphabetical order by the first author’s last name.

• Use APA formatting (include a title page). A reference page is not needed since you are already providing a full reference for each source above the summary.

Domestic violence has become a significant issue that requires more awareness and attention. I chose to explore this topic because it significantly impacts individuals and communities, regardless of culture, age, or social status, yet it continues to occur more every day in the modern world. It is important to understand the complex dynamics of this use, its underlying causes, and the best interventions. It has become urgent to address the issue because it hinders individual and societal growth and infringes upon the basic rights of individuals. Additionally, the topic reflects my desire to play a part in the well-being, safety, and empowerment of victims while focusing on eliminating the causes.
There is significant research into the gravity of domestic violence as a social concern in the modern wield. Domestic abuse encompasses psychological, emotional, and financial maltreatment, besides the widely recognized physical abuse, often resulting in long-lasting trauma. Domestic violence has ripple effects that go into various domains, including physical and mental health, economic stability, and intergenerational abuse cycles (Southern & Sullivan, 2021). These effects highlight the need to gain insight into creating an effective prevention strategy and support system for survivors to address the deeply rooted issue.
Additionally, this topic is important because it extends to understanding how children as affected by environments permeated by domestic violence. Children who experience domestic violence have been found to be at a higher risk of longstanding psychological and emotional trauma, perpetuating abuse cycles across generations (Liu & Xu, 2023). This affects their overall functioning at different levels of society, including at home and school.
