Discussion question
Adaptations that make a species successful during one period of time may not be enough to ensure that species’ survival when environmental conditions change. We are currently experiencing a time of especially rapidly-changing environmental conditions caused largely by human activities. How will this effect species’ survival? Is this true for humans? Discuss, paying particular attention to evolutionary processes.

Question for discussion
Adaptations that make a species effective during one period of time may not be sufficient to secure the survival of that species when environmental conditions change. We are currently living in a period of unusually rapid environmental change, which is largely the result of human activity. How will this affect the survival of species? Is this also true of humans? Talk about it, paying special emphasis to evolutionary processes.
