A few industries in the United States have convinced the political system to permit giant corporations to work collectively legally. Specifically, collegiate and professional sports activities groups have been given authorized authority to cooperate to restrict competitors (in enterprise, not in athletic competitors). Many different industries would love comparable permission however most corporations will not be allowed to legally cooperate to restrain competitors. Does there appear to be a public curiosity in the particular permission for the athletic trade or does this look like a case of unfair benefit at the expense of customers?
