Overview
Stakeholder support is cri!cal for the success of short-term volunteer aid trips. Working responsibly and effec!vely with host
staff is par!cularly important, but there are other poten!al stakeholders to consider. These stakeholders might be from other
not-for-profits, NGOs, philanthropists, academic ins!tu!ons, government agencies, lobbyists, or other interested groups.
Inves!ga!ng poten!al stakeholder support is a cri!cal step in developing humanitarian aid interven!ons. It allows you to
answer the ques!ons: Who will implement the interven!on strategies? How will you leverage and strengthen exis!ng
community resources? Who will ensure accountability and measure success?
Prompt
In your reading, you reviewed an example stakeholder iden!fica!on table for a sexually transmi#ed diseases program
evalua!on. For this assignment, you will complete a similar worksheet to iden!fy lists of poten!al stakeholders that could
support your humanitarian aid trip. Your stakeholder lists can overlap, but you should have at least eight stakeholders or
stakeholder groups iden!fied in total.
You should cite at least three sources from your own inves!ga!on, which may include scholarly and nonscholarly sources. The
evidence should not be older than five years. To access the Shapiro Library Guide: Nursing—Graduate, go to the Start Here
sec!on of the course.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
1. Implementers: Iden!fy a list of at least two to four stakeholders or stakeholder groups that could serve as poten!al
implementers for your humanitarian aid trip. For each person or group, provide a brief descrip!on and indicate why you
believe they are appropriate for this task based on their mission and capabili!es.
2. Decision Makers: Iden!fy a list of at least two to four stakeholders or stakeholder groups that could serve as poten!al
decision makers for your humanitarian aid trip. For each person or group, provide a brief descrip!on and indicate why
you believe they are appropriate for this task based on their mission and capabili!es.
3. Par!cipants: Iden!fy a list of at least two to four stakeholders or stakeholder groups that could serve as poten!al
par!cipants for your humanitarian aid trip. For each person or group, provide a brief descrip!on and indicate why you
believe they are appropriate for this task based on their mission and capabili!es.
4. Partners: Iden!fy a list of at least two to four stakeholders or stakeholder groups that could serve as poten!al partners
for your humanitarian aid trip. For each person or group, provide a brief descrip!on and indicate why you believe they
are appropriate for this task based on their mission and capabili!es.
