Academic integrity refers to the commitment to and demonstration of ethical behavior and honesty in an academic setting and involves the provision of credit to other people when using their ideas to avoid plagiarism (Ayodele, Yao, & Haron, 2018). On the other hand, academic originality refers to a declaration that the submitted work is one's work, that plagiarism has not been committed and have referenced all the sources used in work appropriately. In conclusion, it is clear that both academic integrity and originality connect in the sense that they both undermine a student’s learning and upholding them safeguards their reputation as well as help in contributing to the well-being of the society.
