It said, that “with great power comes great responsibilities’. Leadership is a form of power or mandate that legitimately gives one the authority to bear certain responsibilities. Therefore, if something goes wrong, the leadership takes the blame. On the other hand, if things go the right way, above expectation perhaps, the leadership takes the credit.
It is hence easy to see that leadership connotes a lot in terms bearing responsibilities. From the above mentioned facts, one can simply understand that quality of leadership lies in the capacity to bear responsibilities and consequently to achieve desired results or goals of which the leadership will take credit. The capacity to bear responsibility on the other hand is function of one’s ethics.
Thus, when all these are put together, the end point is what we know as “Ethical Leadership”. Ethical leadership begins with an understanding of and commitment to our individual core values. By first discovering the values at the core of our identities, we begin the process of integrating our unique values as well as our choice making capabilities on all levels of our personal and civic lives.

In other words, ethical leadership requires a good understanding of one’s core values and having the courage to live them in all parts of life in service of the common good. Based on the above mentioned facts, this paper reviews how the ethical leadership qualities of one man helped a reputable firm achieve its goals in the credit card market, and brought about a well deserved confidence of the public, in the administrative capabilities of the companies management.
