[1] Part 1: Your Reflection — Describe your local community’s/household’s drinking water in the Cayman Islands. Where does it come from? How clean and fresh do you think it is? What are some local issues you are concerned about, with respect to accessing healthy drinking water? Do you feel access to quality drinking water is a fundamental human right which all people should be given — or is it a commodity that should be capitalized on? Explain your reasoning.
[2] Part 2: Your Research — Conduct internet research to find an area somewhere in the world (NOT local in the Cayman Islands) that is experiencing issues with water scarcity. Provide a description of the location, reasons for the water shortage, and an explanation of the actions citizens and/or the government are taking to address the issue. Then, based on your eBook readings, comment on the ethics of sustainability as they relate to protecting and sharing natural capital on a global scale. What are some of the issues that make sharing natural capital, such as water, difficult?
