Computer Performance
You are running a memory-intensive multimedia application on your computer, which has 1 GB RAM installed. You observe that the computer momentarily stops responding when you switch between two multimedia applications. Your friend suggests upgrading the RAM to 2 GB to correct the performance problems.
Do you agree with your friend? Specify reasons.
Is there any other way to solve the performance problem? Justify your answer.

Computer Performance
Memory intensive application performance depends on how fast the memory can feed up the data processor. Since the computer momentarily stops, upgrading from 1GB to 2GB will helps solve the performance problem since, a limited RAM results in the CPU waiting to complete a task which prevents it to fully perform. Upgrading increases the RAM which means it can handle more tasks and also distribute the work-load effectively resulting in improved performance. It also leads to faster memory and higher bandwidth resulting in higher CPU performance and also reduces the computer’s non-responsiveness (Ricks Daily Tips, 2018).
Computer performance can also be improved by uninstalling the unused programs. Buying a computer includes also some pre-installed programs which may accumulate over time resulting to bulkiness, and this programs may also run on the background which results to slow performance, uninstalling and maintaining only the ones needed will help solve the problem. Deleting temporary files will also improve your computer performance, they result from downloading some files on the internet or browsing since the computer stores the searched documents history, deleting this files will create more space in your system improving its performance. When starting up the computer some programs may automatically run in the background, this may result to slow performance in the computer, closing the programs you don’t need will help improve your computer responsiveness (Kingsley-Hughes, 2016).
System requirements are the necessary components needed in a computer for it to support a given software. Microsoft office is an application software that is used to run word processes. It requires a computer and a window processor of 1.6 gigahertz, memory windows of 4GB, 2GB (32-bits), 4GB available disk space and a window display of 1280*768 screen resolution. It’s essential for creating documents such as letters and emails, it contains tools for formatting documents and also creating texts of large volume. It can also be used to import objects and use them in own document. It also offers facilities for exporting to other packages such as lotus notes and word perfect.
