Peter Douglas is a 77-year-old nursing home resident with congestive heart failure and insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The wound bed displayed 100% yellow necrotic tissue, considerable drainage, and a terrible odor. He was underweight, with an albumin level of 2.
