QDAIP Implementation
Project management plays a very important role in decision modeling. Identify the phases of project management and how they are applicable to decision modeling. Create a program Assessment and review technique (PERT) analysis of the selected project to identify the following activities:

Indicate the critical path of selected activities.
Project the project time line and the slack time.
Calculate the backward pass.
Determine activity variability.
Identify the key differences between the PERT method and the critical path method (CPM).

QDAIP Implementation
The phases of project management include Initiation, Planning, Executing, Controlling, and Closing.
Initiation phase
The initiation process involves the identification of what will be done in the project and the commitment of Honest Inc. in establishing the next phase of the project. Initiation is also applied to decision modeling by identifying the decisions that will be considered across the project. The decisions act as specific requirements for guiding the project. The stage contributes to filtering suitable decisions for modeling.
Planning phase
The planning phase of the project entails the introduction of something new in the project. The planning phase constitutes other core planning processes such as scope planning, scope definition, activity definition, sequencing of activities, duration estimation, development of the schedule, resource planning, cost estimation, cost budgeting and project plan development. The planning process also involves the setting of the objectives to be achieved in the project. The phase is applicable in the description of the decisions for modeling. The decision diagram contains one or more decisions and it is critical to creating such a diagram for the specific stage of the project. The decision model also involves specifying the questions and answers and application context among other activities.
Executing Phase
Project execution involves the core process as well as the process of planning that facilitates the implementation of the project. Project execution involves the process of project plan execution, verification of the scope of the project, quality assurance of the project, development of the team by considering skills and specialization of an individual, distribution of information while ensuring that appropriate information is made available to stakeholders. The phase of project execution is applied in decision modeling in specifying the decision requirements. The phase establishes the detailed decision requirements which are an important process in decision making. The information and knowledge are specified as well as translating in the decision requirement diagram. It establishes the data and variables to be utilized in the model, specifies the knowledge concerning the decision and compares with other available decisions.
Controlling Phase
Controlling involves measuring the performance of the project regularly to establish if there is any variation from the plan. The variances are incorporated into the project by making the appropriate adjustments. The controlling process involves focusing on activities such as the scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk response and performance reporting. The phase is also applied in decision modeling by establishing the appropriate decisions by removing or adding other vital decisions for the successful completion of the project. – Term Paper Writing Service
Closing Process
The process indicates the end of the project and the closing process involves major two activities which are administrative closure through the reporting system and contract close-out which indicate the end of the contract. The phase gives the appropriate decision for the modeling process or the go-ahead to proceed.

Program Assessment and Review Technique
Activity No. Task Duration
1 Project Initiation 1 week
2 Project Planning 2 weeks
3 Project Execution 4 weeks
4 Project Control 3 week
5 Project Closure 1 week
Total Duration 11 weeks

Figure 1: The PERT diagram and critical path of activities
The duration of the project is 11 weeks, while in calculating slack time, activity 1 can be delayed for 2 days, activity 2 for 3 days, activity 3 for 1 week, activity 4 days, activity 5 for 1 day. The total slack time = 2+3+14+4+1= 24 days
Backward pass = 1+2+3+1= 7 weeks
Activity Variability= 1^2+2^2+3^2+1^2=1+4+9+1=15 – Term Paper Writing Service
The PERT of the project is a technique for managing activities of a project while CPM is the statistical technique that manages activities of the project. PERT is applied in planning and controlling time while CPM is used in controlling the cost and duration of the project.
