Many diseases have both genetic and environmental causes. Scientists often take traditional racial boundaries into account when researching why certain populations seem predisposed to certain diseases.
Discuss the roles genetics and environment play in many diseases. Use the following questions as your guide for this discussion:
1) What environmental conditions might play a role in a person’s tendency to contract a disease?
2) Genetics too can play a role in a person’s tendency to contract a certain disease. What are some of the diseases that can be inherited–caused by certain genes? Genetics can also influence a person’s proclivity to contract a disease. What are some of the diseases that can be passed down through families and are caused by specific genes?
Your main response should be a minimum of 150 words (more is OK). You must also post a minimum of one significant reply to a classmate’s post that contributes to their learning. The reply should be a minimum of 100 words.
