How could human being live without data, human is a unique being that is able to interact and manipulate data of all kinds to ensure it survive or better its state of life. Healthcare is one major field that human being has been able to use data to ensure the good health of every being. As illness is not something to escape, use of data has bring a lot of hope in the healthcare sector through research on drugs and breakthrough on advanced treatment, this has bring lot of ease in the administration, discovery and delivery of treatment. Advancement and integration are made every day with an aim of realizing an optimal patient care that can reduce cost and improve patient outcomes, large chunks of money are invested to capture large amounts of data outlined in big initiatives.
Use of big data in the healthcare sector has bring along many benefits some being: Improved operational efficiency in management, this cut down on healthcare cost and provide better care, it also helps in reducing medication errors by improving financial and administrative performance while the main problem facing this sector is security as the healthcare data is subject to a nearly infinite array of vulnerabilities. To mitigate the challenges of risk of using big data in the health sector, policy must be able to exploit synergies in the merger between health and data.
In conclusion, healthcare and well-being is where the world is heading to, this requires making use of all available clinical data and factoring that into advanced analytics. Big Data and Predictive Analytics play a massive role in the healthcare industry as not only agents that save lives of patients.
