This above statement is very true. From placing orders per physician to signing off on those orders is very pertinent qualification of a nurse. EMAR systems are used amongst different departments such as laboratory, radiology and the emergency departments. Physicians even use the EMAR system to place orders for nurses or to consult other physicians on a case. I feel as though as the years change the evolution of nursing informatics is changing as well. With this ever-changing technology within the healthcare there is always ways to improve it. Although, this computer system is nice and very handy orders can be lost and or missed. I feel a good suggestion to have in place is when a new order is place for a nurse or a department the computer should have a chiming noise or the patient’s name should have sometime alarm symbol flashing that a new order has been placed on this patient. I think this well decipher many orders that are being placed on patients. Another thought would be if the computer isn’t being used or active after a minute has passed; the screen should default to a black screen. And the healthcare professional must access again by typing in their username and password. I think this will prevent a lot patients’ information being exposed when a nurse, or professional walks away from the computer. I think the lapse of time on computer is too long and can cause confidentiality issues. The change of nursing informatics has great impact as a specialty and on professional interactions. It allows care to be given fast yet in a safe manner. When technology becomes more advanced within the healthcare there will be less orders missed. The risk for mistakes will diminish, and the quality of care will improve within all facilities. When quality of patient care improves the satisfaction surveys of patients will as well. “Patients can provide their subjective experience as an input to improve several, often undermined, aspects of healthcare delivery.” (Mastrian & McGonigle, 2017)
“Nurses are responsible 24 hours each day for continuously identifying care issues, implementing and adjusting care prescribed…” (Macieria, Smith, Davis, Yao, Wikie, Lopez, & Keenan, 2017) It’s significant that we acknowledge this as a healthcare as a whole and make the necessary changes so care given properly.

Assignment: The Impact of Nursing Informatics on Patient Outcomes and Patient Care Efficiencies
In the Discussion for this module, you considered the interaction of nurse informaticists with other specialists to ensure successful care. How is that success determined?
Patient outcomes and the fulfillment of care goals is one of the major ways that healthcare success is measured. Measuring patient outcomes results in the generation of data that can be used to improve results. Nursing informatics can have a significant part in this process and can help to improve outcomes by improving processes, identifying at-risk patients, and enhancing efficiency.
To Prepare:
Review the concepts of technology application as presented in the Resources.
Reflect on how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence may help fortify nursing informatics as a specialty by leading to increased impact on patient outcomes or patient care efficiencies.
The Assignment: (4-5 pages not including the title and reference page)
In a 4- to 5-page project proposal written to the leadership of your healthcare organization, propose a nursing informatics project for your organization that you advocate to improve patient outcomes or patient-care efficiency. Your project proposal should include the following:
Describe the project you propose.
Identify the stakeholders impacted by this project.
Explain the patient outcome(s) or patient-care efficiencies this project is aimed at improving and explain how this improvement would occur. Be specific and provide examples.
