Health IT is quickly taking over healthcare and is the driving force for the future of the medical field. Some examples of Health IT are Electronic Health Records (EHR), Telehealth , Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE), Barcode Medication Administration (BCMA), Healthcare .gov, and the list goes on. For this paper, find something in the Health IT space that interests you and write a 3 page paper (this does not include title page and reference page-total of 5-6 pages) that describes the technology as well as how you feel the technology has changed or could change healthcare delivery.
You are required to have a minimum of 5 total sources, at least 3 journal articles (found as described in week 5 from the University of Michigan Library Website using Cinahl or Medline , or your database of preference) and 2 websites. Use the knowledge you have gained through this course so far to find actual factual websites. Keep in mind, Wikipedia can be a great resource to get some basic information, but Wikipedia is never acceptable as a reference for “authentic” information.
The paper is to be written in APA format (Title Page, Reference Page, in-line references, etc.) If you are new to APA format, do not fear, this assignment is to just get your started with APA. If the APA is not perfect, I am not worried, it is all part of learning how to do it properly. That being said, if you do not even attempt APA format, then you will not receive all of the points for this assignment.
