This week’s supplemental reading asked students to read the article Holy Anorexia, which discussed a religious basis for some of the historical cases reviewed. Students were also asked to read the diagnostic criteria for Anorexia Nervosa in the most current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-5). Students are asked to reflect on their readings and apply a Christian lens to the topic, In order to compare and contrast the early knowledge of psychopathology with current understandings and to evaluate them from a faith-based perspective.
