Getting Involved at Harris College
Communities are essential in any society for security, creation of solutions, and revelation of dedications. They are part of people’s everyday life as they bring a positive impact to the people. The University of Chicago provides an incredible student community on and off-campus. The thought of joining makes the prospect of making new friends, broadening of horizons, and boosting my resume a reality. Thus, as the university admits some of the brightest students, I will have a chance to go for lunch dates with friends and classmates, allowing me to make connections that will last throughout my professional career.
Additionally, I will also find time to attend various Harris events organized by the University of Chicago. The university organizes multiple Harris events that are either educational or those that foster professional development. Some of the events I am looking at attending are workshops with experts in the field, guest lectures, and lunch and learn meetings.
Moreover, it will be my pleasure to join a student organization. The university has more than twenty student organizations. Thus, I will choose a group that aligns with my focus and interests. Also, it will be a good chance to make connections and further develop my leadership skills. By tapping into the Harris network, I will be laying my groundwork to succeed professionally. The Harris network provides a chance for me to learn more about the pathways taken by alumni students who had similar interests as mine.
In a nutshell, Harris offers students an opportunity to engage themselves in the vibrant culture that extends to the wider University of Chicago. Thus, taking part in various clubs and groups will allow me to network with alumni students with similar interests, providing me with a chance to broaden my opportunities as I develop my professional skills.
