Hello Class,
A literary review is an overlook of an published piece. It is a summary of sources or recap in one’s own words. It takes an old piece of work and gives it a new interpretation. Scholars use literature reviews to check the credibility of their sources. It is a solid foundation for a scholar’s research. The literary review provides organization for the future by breaking down the research and reviewing each separately. It includes an introduction, body, conclusion, and technical considerations. The summary of sources can be considered a literary review for our popular science assignment. It helps to get thoughts onto a page about how specific facts and thoughts from the research are used in the student’s future essay.
The researcher can then choose what issues to discuss by what intrigues them in the review. It is like a cliff note of their research at glace. It also can explore an area that the writer is particularly interested. A literary review combines both the summary and synthesis of the publication or idea in focus. The literary review successfully uses both summary and synthesis to convey the idea/ claim. The reader/ writer of in a literary review will most likely keep their opinions until they write their paper. A traditional research paper will contain a thesis, different from a literary review. A writer will convey what to expect but will not go into an argument. Instead, it states the facts and thoughts of the reader on the facts.
I choose the book example, “Sleep Deprivation.” At first glance, the review looks like a research paper. After reading the literature review, it is an in-depth review of the effects of sleep deprivation. It leaves questions open to the reader to search for answers in the body. It also links the research/studies about sleep deprivation, helping the writer to understand further. The similarity in the sources helps to see that the studies have been proven with a test. The focus of both sources is the same, sleep deprivation. The body of the literature review is detailed with in text citations to use for credibility. The review has the effects of sleep deprivation in both short term and long term. The review synthesizes both of the source’s similarities and differences. The conclusion confronts the differences. This can be helpful for future essay. The question arises as to why the sources have differences, and the writer may want to do my research prior to writing on the topic.
This resource will help me write my literature review because it gives a blueprint. It shows how to set up my review and helps me see that I should compare the sources to find differences. The review will help with conflicting information in writing the review. It also lays out all the pertinent information in one place, which will help during the brainstorming of my review. When outlining my piece, I will be able to organize the information in a way that flows and is easy/enjoyable for the reader to digest. A literature review is an excellent start to any paper that requires research and facts.

To sum up what a literature review is, it’s a comprehensive summary of previous research topcs. Literature reviews normally review scholarly articles, books and many other sources relevant to a specific area of research. Overall, the review should describe, summarize, evaluate and clarify the previous research. Theoretical bases for this particular research will help the author determine the nature of the research. It also acknowlefges the work of previous researchers, in doing so, bringing assurance to the reader that the author work is being well conceived. With mentioning the previous work in the specific field of study, just goes to prove that the author has thoroughly read, evaluated and put forth effort towards the work at hand. It can also be reviewed as a landscape for the reader, giving them the benefit of fully understanding the developments in the field. That landscape generally informs the reader that the author did what was needed to acknowledge previous credits of significant works in the field, as well. A regular paper is written and analyzed by the author from scratch. Eventhough both are peer reviewed before publishing, a review paper generally presents the extended version of the research paper. They are closely similar, but yet so different.
Jackson, C. W., & Turnbull, A. (2004). Impact of deafness on family life: A review of the literature. on, 24(1), 15-29. doi:10.1177/02711214040240010201 — This basically explains the presence of deafness in a family having such huge impact of all areas within that family. It stated the importance of making sure there’s an understanding of that impact known so all critical components can be adressed and possibly seek help. It mentions the four domains of family quality of life, including family interaction, family resources, parenting and support for a present child who’s deaf.It also includes key findings of certain studies in the literature, as well. It appears to also add that research is yet to be dicussed in the future of these implications. It seems to me 65 sources appear with a date range from 1979-2002.
I will use the resources to be sure that my literature review includes percise purpose in the article, the degree of consensus with a particular theory or tension between competing theories, the correct length and the correct previous amount of studies in the existing given field. I will be sure to include a j=historical background for my research, use current context in which my research is situated, be sure to discuss the relevant theories and concepts that provide the foundations for my research, introduce the appropriate relevant terminolgy, be sure to describe related research and show how my work expands or challenges and possibly fill any gaps, and lastly, be sure that I use supporting evidence for a pratical problem or issue that my research address and which it shows importance to.

Good day, Class.
A literary review is an examination of a previously published work. It is a summary or recap of sources in one’s own words. It lends a new interpretation to an old piece of work. Literature reviews are used by academics to assess the credibility of their sources. It serves as a firm foundation for scholarly investigation.
