A substantial number of patients die in the intensive care unit, so high-quality end-of-life care is an important part of intensive care unit work. However, end-of-life care varies because of lack of knowledge of best practices. High-quality end-of-life care is multifaceted and entails an individual approach. For this discussion, perform a literature review and identify evidence-based End-of-life care of the highest quality is multidimensional and requires an individualized approach to each patient. To prepare for this conversation, you should first conduct a literature analysis and then find evidence-based interventions to promote high-quality end-of-life care in the intensive care unit.
