Notes: Matthew Tierney is currently the president of APNA; I met Matthew during the APNA 34TH Annual conference in October 2021; I spoke with him about my goal of opening a psychiatric facility, and he encouraged me to go back to school and obtain my master in psychiatric, he also told me to email him if I need any help. He would be glad to help me. I selected him because we are in the same organization, and he has his masters in psychiatry. He is a great motivation to me, and he will greatly help me.

She introduced me to APNA in 2020; when I told her I was considering doing my master’s, she recommended Walden University. I chose her because she has been a great help in linking me to some helpful resources, and she said I could call her if I needed help with my studies

I have also identified strategies I intend to pursue to maintain integrity and ethics of my academic work while a student of the MSN program, as well as my professional work as a nurse throughout my career. Section 1: Academic Integrity in relation to Professional Integrity
The concept of academic honesty and writing are intimately related to one another. When someone says they have academic integrity, they are committing to maintaining the highest possible standards of intellectual honesty in all parts of their academic activity. Academic integrity would include avoiding plagiarism, cheating, and fabrication. On the other side, writing is the process of putting one’s thoughts into written form in order to communicate those ideas to others. Integrity in the classroom is vitally important since it serves as the foundation for any educational endeavor. This is because it enables academics to have faith in the work of their peers and to build upon it. Second, maintaining academic integrity is necessary in order to give students an Assessment that is both objective and precise of the job they have done. The legitimacy of grades and reviews is severely undermined by cheating and plagiarism, which also makes it difficult for teachers to evaluate students in a fair manner. Academic integrity protects the reputation of the individual and the institution (Adhiambo, 2019). Maintaining academic integrity in one’s work can be accomplished in a number of different ways, the most important of which include being truthful about one’s sources, thoughts, and data; adhering to the criteria established by the institution; and avoiding plagiarism.
The connection between the ethics of academic research and the behaviour of professionals is a complex one. Ethics norms of behavior are typically required to be followed by professionals and specialists, as these rules are commonly used to control productive workforce practices. On the other side, scholarly ethics is concerned with concerns of ethics that arise throughout the process of conducting research and publishing articles. Upholding ethical standards is one of the most important components of nursing. In general, professional practices are more concerned with the behavior of professionals in their day-to-day work, whereas academic ethics are more concerned with ethical issues pertaining to research. The standards that nursing professionals are expected to uphold on a daily basis are often outlined in professional codes of conduct. The study of scholarly ethics places more of an emphasis on moral concerns, such as considerations regarding the ethical method to use data, the appropriate way to cite sources, and the necessity of avoiding plagiarism.
Grammarly, Safe Assign, and Paraphrasing all support to the integrity of academic work by Helping users in the production of unique, well-written content that is free of plagiarism. Grammarly is a software application that checks for grammar and spelling errors (Curtis& Tremayne, 2021). Grammarly can also be used to check for plagiarism in both written and electronic sources, making it an invaluable tool for preventing academic dishonesty. A software program called Safe Assigns, which is quite similar to Turnitin, searches for instances of plagiarism in printed materials, electronic sources, and online sources including websites and journals. Paraphrasing is the process of rewriting a piece of text in your own words. Because paraphrasing is a type of cheating that can result in serious penalties, it is absolutely necessary to provide citations for any and all sources that are used in an assignment or project. Cheating, plagiarism, and other forms of academic dishonesty can lead to serious ethical consequences.

PART 2: Strategies for Maintaining Integrity of Work

Expand on your thoughts from Part 1 by:

• Identifying and describing strategies you intend to pursue to maintain integrity and ethics of your 1) academic work while a student of the MSN program, and 2) professional work as a nurse throughout your career. Include a review of resources and approaches you propose to use as a student and a professional.

A student working on their Master of Science in nursing has a variety of options available to them in order to keep the honesty and morality of their academic work intact. These tactics include being honest and truthful in all parts of their academic work, in addition to adhering to the codes of conduct and ethical values of the nursing as a career (Bah & Sey-Awo, 2018). Other tactics include a resolute determination not to engage in any sort of academic dishonesty or cheating and careful attention paid to the accurate citation of all sources utilized in academic work. As a student, one of the services that I would use to continually verify my academic work to avoid instances of plagiarism, which could lead to problems with my integrity, is called Safe Assign.
In addition, there is a wide variety of approaches that a nurse might take in order to preserve the honesty and morality of their work in a professional setting. Adhering to the ethics requirements established by the American Nurses Association (ANA), which provides nurses with a set of principles and values to guide their professional conduct, is one strategy among many. Other tactics include the following: Second, maintaining a high level of integrity and candor in all professional interactions while keeping abreast of the most recent discoveries and advancements in the nursing profession Maintaining a professional presence as a nurse can be facilitated in part by ensuring compliance with the ANA’s rules.
