Description of a Beyond/Without Borders organization
Stories Without Borders interest me the most of the many without borders organizations. Everyone has a story to tell, and we all have the privilege of sharing our stories. This organization aims to share positive stories, with approximately 50,000 working across 27 countries (Stories Without Borders, n.d.).

Social Change Mission of the Organization
Stories Without Border’s social change mission is “… work independently and in strategic partnership with organizations to tell underreported stories and empower new storytellers” (Zelizer, 2019).

One Innovative Strategy
One innovative strategy this organization used to address the global social issue that helped them navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic was setting up what they called a ‘Virtual Coffee Club.’ This innovative idea was introduced to the team through team collaboration to help colleagues stay connected in an informal and fun way as they meet new people and learn more about them and their businesses (Stories Without Borders, n.d.). Every week, Stories Without Boarders, Humanity Runs on Coffee Virtual Club, helped bridge the geographical gap through technology as they randomly matched their colleagues to share their stories.

Degree to Which the Organization Takes Culture, Ethics, and Power into Account
Stories Without Borders consider all aspects of culture, ethics, and power within their organization. From the conception of the organization in 2017, they came together as one, serving clients globally, including Central Mediterranean countries, and later expanding to countries from the Middle East in 2020 (Stories Without Borders, n.d.). The organization thrives on advancing its leaders and believes they should never stop learning. Their workers across borders in countries such as the UK, Denmark, and Norwegian specialize in specific areas that help transform and shape the organization. Stories Without Boarders has left a positive impression on me for the good as I continue to navigate through life to help nations.

SOPHIA
Description of a Beyond/Without Borders organization
The organization of interest to me is Mediators Beyond Borders. Being able to live together and accept the differences of others peacefully means a lot to me. The organization teaches peacebuilders and changemakers worldwide through different methods to solve problems, create connections, use nonviolent communication, and negotiate as mediators (Mediators Beyond Borders, 2023).
Social Change Mission of the Organization
The mission of Mediators Without Borders is to build local skills for peace and promote mediation worldwide (Mediators Beyond Borders, 2023).
One Innovative Strategy
An innovative strategy that the organization used to help with conflict prevention and resolution is called the Peacebuilders’ Platform. The Peacebuilders’ Platform is a collection of personal stories and lessons written to help others learn some strategies and how to get through the struggles of global peace through mediation (Mediators Beyond Borders, 2023).
Degree to Which the Organization Takes Culture, Ethics, and Power into Account
The organization trains leaders, village women, and students on how to be peacemakers while being part of an international network of peacebuilders from over 120 countries (Mediators Beyond Borders, 2023).

Another way in which Stories Without Borders uses an innovative strategy to address global social issues is through their “Storytelling for Impact” program. This program trains individuals and organizations in the art of storytelling to help them more effectively communicate their mission and impact to a wider audience. This innovative strategy not only helps to raise awareness of important social issues, but also empowers individuals and organizations to become more effective advocates for change.

The innovative strategy of the Peacebuilders’ Platform used by Mediators Beyond Borders could be applied to addressing a global social issue such as climate change. The platform could be used to collect and share stories from individuals and organizations working on climate change mitigation and adaptation, highlighting their successes and challenges. This could help to build a network of peacebuilders and changemakers working on climate change, and provide valuable lessons and strategies for others working in this field.
