While this is true in the Copolla version of the film from 1974, the film begins with a classical old backdrop in which the audience is shown a mansion that depicts luxury and riches. Furthermore, photographs from magazine cuttings featuring images of one of the performers are projected onto the screen. Although the ocean and pool locations that are presented at the beginning of both videos are different, there is a striking connection between them. Swimming pools and the ocean can be seen in both videos, which provide a sense of tranquility and peace to the viewer.
The entrance of Gatsby is a significant difference in the two videos, as can be observed. In the 1974 film adaptation, Gatsby comes by boat and is picked up by Tom at the seashore in a car that is being escorted by a private driver. In the 2000 version, Gatsby arrives at Daisy’s mansion by car, rather than on foot. When it comes to the videos, Daisy is clothed in a white gown that depicts aristocracy and opulence, which is appropriate given the enormous fortune at her disposal.
