Cross-Border E-commerce Logistics
One of the questions an e-commerce trader should ask is how customer trust can be ensured. Trust is one of the essential factors in the success of e-commerce because the client may be located a great distance away, or the consumer may not have physical contact with the seller (Fang & Qing, 2018, 60). Therefore, the customer will not be able to physically examine the product before purchasing. Another question that an e-commerce trader should ask is whether there is a standard policy established to govern cross-border e-commerce. Cross-border e-commerce is a new trading method involving a wide range of business, customers, taxes laws in various nations (Fang & Qing, 2018, 60). Different countries have different policies concerning the taxation and valuation of their currencies. Therefore, the establishment of standard regulations and laws will reduce legal risks about transactions and privacy.
Furthermore, the availability of professional talents in businesses to facilitate e-commerce must also be taken into account. E-commerce mainly involves the use of internet technology. New and high technology talents have been the critical factor for upgrading and developing competitiveness in the medium and small-size e-commerce industry. Besides, the question of how customer supervision and efficiency will be ensured must be put into account. The frequency of the traditional international trade was usually low because it involved vast amounts of commodity, taking a long time for a transaction to be completed. In cross-border e-commerce, the producer and consumer can complete the transaction through the network without physically meeting (Fang & Qing, 2018, 59). Therefore, the producer must ensure proper supervision of the customer products to enhance their trust. Currently, there are still significant challenges in customer supervision in cross-border e-commerce, like how to return faster when exchanging and returning goods, the type of tax rates appropriate to cross-border e-commerce products, and how to supervise small commodities effectively.
