Task
Use online resources to research the topic assigned to you and use this research to choose and critically
review one current reading related to the topic assigned to you.
Time Commitment
This assignment may take you approximately three hours to complete. Please manage your time

What You Will Do
Step 1: Research
Research the topic assigned to you by performing your own research online.
Step 2: Choose and Read
Choose and read one published reading (journal article, chapter from a book, etc…) related to the
topic assigned to you. You are free to select whatever reading you wish, as long as it focuses on the
topic assigned to you and has been published within the last three (3) years.
Step 3: Research
Find and review at least two additional sources of information that relate to the topic assigned to you
and the content of the reading you selected.
Step 3: Critically Review
Create a written report that meets the requirements listed below. Use the following criteria checklist or
to Help you in developing your report:
o A written report between 500 and 1000 words.
o An analysis including the following features:
o Your reasons for selecting this reading.
o A summary of the content including the key concepts and your examination of the
strengths and weaknesses of the reading.
o Suitable applications of the reading’s concepts to your exploration of software
engineering concepts.
o A detailed reference to your reading (source) that includes its title, author, place of publishing
and date of publishing.

Step 3: Post Your Report
Post your report to our course’ online forum in Moodle so it can be reviewed by your fellow students.
Step 4: Peer Review
During the following week, students will be asked to peer-review each other’s work. Instructions for this
step will be given during class on October 5

o Presents information in a well-organized, logical, and easy-to-understand manner.
o Properly formats all sources and citations.
o Follows all instructions provided in the steps.
• Peer Review (20%)
o Review of peer reports and ability to effectively provide constructive feedback on the
reports.
o Communicates information in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
o Writes and speaks clearly, concisely, and effectively.
o Uses proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Timeliness (10%)
o Submits the assignment on time.
