lease note that the One-Pager for your Class Project is due on Feb 24 @ 5:00 PM. Please submit early, as late papers will not be accepted.

Recall that your class project should focus on the different ways that ocean processes (e.g., wind, waves, tides, others?) can be used to generate energy, all of which help combat climate change. 1. Step one is to learn about the different ways that energy can be generated from the oceans. For example, energy can be generated from offshore wind generators, water moving because of waves, and water flowing on/off shore due to the tides. Resources are inserted below.

2. Step 2 (worth 20 points) is to write a preliminary review of one of these methods, including information on how power can be generated and how the technology impacts environmental/biological aspects the oceans. Your description should be one page in length (single-spaced, 1″ margins, 12 point font), and have the following headings: a. Title of Research Project b. Your Name c. Ocean Process Used for Generating Energy (brief description of how energy is generated) d. Impacts on the Marine on Environment (brief list of environmental impacts) e. Citations (at least two sources of information – use MLA style)

3. Step 3 is to submit your one-pager for comments before 5:00 PM on Feb 24. Note that late papers are not accepted.

Remember that your class project should focus on the various ways that ocean phenomena (e.g., wind, waves, tides, and others?) can be used to generate energy, all of which contribute to the fight against climate change. 1. The first step is to learn about the various methods that energy can be created from the oceans. For example, energy can be generated by offshore wind turbines, water moving as a result of waves, and water flowing on/off shore as a result of tides. The resources are listed below.
