week 2
For this week’s assignment, begin by reviewing the 2018 CHE Applicant Information Guides and the NIH General Instructions for NIH and Other PHS Agency Application Packages found in this week’s resources. Then, schedule a face-to-face meeting with your professor to discuss the program you have selected concerning how it fits within CHE priorities. In this meeting, be prepared to discuss answers to the following questions:
What program will you utilize? What does the program involve? What is the intervention? What is your connection to it? What population will you use your program? Where will your program be held? What are the various resources you will need to successfully implement this program?
How does your program fit with the funding priorities of CHE and the NIH? How does your program fit within the psychology context?
What needs to be included with your CHE application? What are the parts of the letter of intent (LOI) vs. the Stage II full application? What does the NIH require?
Ask your professor any questions you have about grant writing.
If you are unable to schedule a Skype or telephone meeting with your professor, you are required to submit a response paper in which you briefly respond to the questions above or you can create a video note in NCUOne.
To create a video note, select the Record video option in the assignment submission area. You will need your webcam to complete this video. Press the New Recording button when you are ready to record your video note and the Stop Recording when finished. Click the Add button to include the video in your assignment submission.
Note on length limitation of video notes: Audio only, up to 1 minute. The video, up to 3 minutes. Multiple submissions can be uploaded if you need more time.
The length of the face-to-face meeting: Plan to schedule a 30-minute conversation. For attendance purposes, submit a Word document with notes from your conversation. This does not have to be in proper APA format and references are not required.
