The technological advancement in the modern world has greatly impacted the technology-related aspects and the healthcare sector. Medical experts in my health organization are applying the general healthcare technological trends which have improved the medical services in the health organization (Han, Hyun, Chae, Lee & Lee, 2020). General healthcare technological trends, especially those related to data or information, include The Internet of Medical Things and Medical Cloud Storage Systems. The Internet of Medical Things entails mobile applications in tracking, especially chronic diseases, and how to address such diseases (Pustokhina, Pustokhin, Gupta, Khanna, Shankar & Nguyen, 2020). The Medical Cloud Storage, where my organization is storing and sharing large files through the cloud-based platforms.
One potential benefit of using The Internet of Medical Things and Medical Cloud Storage in terms of data safety, legislation, and patient care is the guaranteed confidentiality of patients’ information. Another benefit of using the Internet of Medical Things and the Medical Cloud Storage is that it is easier to carry out health research using the computer systems’ information than recorded information in books. However, several potential risks face the use of these general healthcare technology trends that interfere with their effectiveness (Coventry& Branley, 2018). One of the potential risks is a case where unauthorized personnel may have access to the computer systems hosting the Medical Cloud Storage, thereby interfering with the recorded information and data.
One healthcare technological trend that is the most promising medical advancement is Telemedicine services. Telemedicine is an approach that will entail medical experts offering health services to patients in remote areas without any physical contact with the patients. The health practitioners using Telemedicine will consult the patients through a video-conferencing tool. One great advantage of Telemedicine, especially during this period of the Covid 19 Pandemic, is that it will reduce physical contact, reducing the spread of the Covid 19 virus (Bashshur, Doarn, Frenk, Kvedar & Woolliscroft, 2020). One factor that will facilitate Telemedicine tools is the increased use of technological devices among many people; therefore, many people will find it easier to access the video-conferencing tool.
