Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!

When you first listen to Hellogoodbye’s album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, you may think, “wow, this is some pretty wierd stuff.” I know I sure did. But after you get over that initial feeling, you start to pick up on the catchy beat and melodic tunes that the band has put together. Its hard not to find yourself tapping along to the power-pop beats and eventually singing along to the catchy love song lyrics. They’re so upbeat and happy they become infectious and spread the love and happiness to the listener. Yes, the lyrics may seem cheesy at first but its a good thing, its what makes the band unique.

The cd is chock-full of energy with fast-paced songs like “Touchdown Turnaround” and “All Time Lows” but ends in a delightfully slow song called “Two weeks in Hawaii”

Forrest Kline, the main man of Hellogoodbye, said the following quote in an interveiw way back when the band was just starting to form in his bedroom, it is about the origin of the name of the band and I believe it sums their music up beautifully,

“Three things pretty much define the name Hellogoodbye as I intended it.

Mostly I was talking about how fast chances pass and trying to remind myself to cherish what you’ve got while its here, and to not let opportunity pass you by. That is kind of a main theme of a lot of the songs and everything Hellogoodbye.”

Overall, this cd is pretty amazing. I reccomend it to anybody who needs a good pick-me up or just likes to feel happy. So go ahead listen, im sure you wont be disappointed.
