Some natural fibres are also hollow, which may not be completely filled during impregnation. Most bio-based thermosetting resins are water-based and constitute a source of voids during hot compression processing. For automotive applications, these composites are basically produced using the hot compression method. It will be a good research to find out how these voids affect both thermal and mechanical properties of commonly used biocomposites, using analytical modelling approach. The results will be validated, using experimental data available in recent, relevant and good quality literature.
