Salt Lake City Police Department
The structure of police in the department of Salt Lake City which is located in Utah, it is located in the Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States. The structure of the police department is divided into two bureaus. The structure is directed from the office of the chief. The two bureaus of police are the Administrative Bureau and the Operation Bureau, each of the bureaus is headed by Deputy Chief Police. Additionally, the bureaus are further divided into six divisions. One of the structures is further split into two sections of Pioneer Patrol (West) and Liberty Patrol which is located towards the east. However, there are other staffs which perform special operations, investigations and other professional functions.
Chicago Police Department
The Chicago Police Department operates in the city of Chicago Illinois. The department is one of the largest police departments in the United States. The department is headed by the Superintendent of police Helped by the First Deputy Superintendent. The superintendent is assigned to manage the four bureaus and each bureau is commanded by the chief bureau. On the other hand, it is further divided into 22 police districts headed by a commander. The commanders report to the area deputy chief who in turn reports to the Bureau of Patrol Chief.

The department of police in Chicago is considered larger in size than the department of Salt Lake City. Some of the overlapping structures or functions between the two departments are the police bureau and other officials such as the police officers, chiefs and lieutenant.
