Chapter 6, section 6-2 “Psychoactive Drugs” choose TWO primary neurotransmitter systems to review. *Note: These are listed as the red subtitles throughout the section, and are also listed in Table 6-1: Psychoactive Drugs. You may use information from its section in the textbook as well as information from the online tutorial to answer these questions. In “Psychoactive Drugs,” section 6-2, choose TWO main neurotransmitter systems to look at. Note: These are listed in Table 6-1: Psychoactive Drugs and as red subtitles throughout the section. You can answer these questions by using information from the section in the textbook and from the online tutorial.
Provide one example of a drug that affects that system and explain its purpose.
Briefly summarize its action on the brain. Then answer whether: It is an antagonist or agonist. Which neurotransmitter it blocks or mimics. What part(s) of the brain it affects.
Describe one cultural factor or reason for its use, either currently or historically. Use one outside resource to support your answer to this question. (You will need to find a credible source from either NU library or Google Scholar).

● Length: 500 words, excluding the cover page and reference pages, double-spaced, formatted in APA style.
● Cover Page: Formatted according to APA style.
● Body: Use headings and subheadings or strong transition statements to allow for
clear progression of and transition between ideas.
● References: The textbook and/or the online tutorial must be cited when ideas are
taken from those resources. An additional reference to a resource providing evidence of a cultural factor for the drug’s use must also be included. Therefore, a minimum of three resources must be included on the Reference Page and cited throughout your essay.
● Documentation: All sources must be documented in citations throughout your paper and placed on a separate reference page, using APA format.
