Parliament consists of 10 (ten) members representing the citizens of South Africa. Five members understand that food safety can only be achieved through compliance with food safety laws, regulations, standards, and procedures; and food safety education and communication. The other five members understand that food safety can only be achieved through routine inspections and fines and strict law enforcement including legal closure of non-compliant food premises.
