Posture and Stability
Topic: Posture and Stability
Research
Postural stability is the ability of the body to control the position of the body for the purposes of movement. Body posture involves interactions with diverse skeletal systems and muscles (Bey et al., 2018). The cerebellum is the central part of the body that controls body posture by coordinating complex skeletal, muscular systems. The function is vital in keeping the body balanced. Maintaining good posture and stability is critical in centering the bodyweight on the feet (Bey et al., 2018). People who fail to maintain appropriate body posture and stability experience complications such as back pain, joint degeneration, spinal dysfunction, potbelly, and rounded shoulders. Individuals should pay attention to sitting and standing to avoid dysfunction (Sutter & Girouard, 2021). Regular exercises are vital in bolstering the complex skeletal, muscular systems responsible for body posture and stability and general fitness.
Critical Thinking
Body posture and stability is an issue that people are rarely concerned about. The considerations are critical since they can affect the health and fitness of an individual. Body posture and stability starts with how people sit at workplaces or home (Sutter & Girouard, 2021). People should take appropriate measures to improve their body posture, such as exercising. Learning about body posture is critical in boosting health outcomes. People who sit for long hours in offices should consider the appropriateness of their seats. Sitting inappropriately for long hours increases the risk of back pain. Treatment of chronic back pain should not be taken casually with medications such as pain killers. People who suspect their back is unfit should get a comprehensive check-up to diagnose conditions and receive early treatment.
