Appendix B: Logic Model for Organizational Change

Introduction:
Program theory refers to a logical framework that explains the linkages between activities, outputs, outcomes, and impact of a program or intervention. It is a way of visualizing and communicating the key components of a program to stakeholders and program implementers. In this context, the program theory provides an explanation of how child protection screening staff activities lead to the identification of cases of alleged maltreatment in the community.

Program Theory:
IF child protection screening staff gather comprehensive, relevant, and accurate information from reporters, THEN cases of alleged maltreatment identified in the community will be appropriately assigned for either traditional assessment, Alternative Response assessment, or a voluntary child welfare response. The program theory assumes that by ensuring that comprehensive and accurate information is collected during screening, the appropriate response will be initiated for each case of alleged maltreatment.

Logic Model:

Inputs:

Trained and qualified child protection screening staff
Access to appropriate screening tools and protocols
Adequate funding and resources to support the screening process
Activities:

Screening reports of alleged child maltreatment
Conducting interviews with reporters and involved parties
Gathering comprehensive and relevant information about the alleged maltreatment

Conducting ongoing Assessment and assessment to ensure that the new solution is effective and sustainable, making adjustments as needed to improve performance and achieve desired outcomes. This process involves stabilizing the new solution, ensuring that it is integrated into the organization’s operations, and continuously improving its implementation and impact.
