Role of Employee Training and Development
The role of employee training and development in the company is to enhance the employees’ skills. The objective is to help the company gain and retain top talent in the company. Other objectives are to enhance the productivity of the employees and job satisfaction. Employees appreciate it when companies take them through a series of continuous learning and development. Boosting the employees’ skills enhances their satisfaction and job morale which translates into quality care for the customers and high overall productivity of the company.
Employee training and development is part of the strategic plan in the company since the organization has deliberate plans to enhance the employees’ skills. For instance, the company uses human resources to enhance hiring through a training series. The reason is to enhance cultural sensitivity and the ability to hire employees that will meet the objectives of the company. The top management team receives regular training to enhance their managerial skills. Marketing teams receive skills such as using social media and Google search engine optimization to market the company’s products. The training effectively enhances the competitive advantage of satisfying customers and tapping into untapped markets.
One of the recommendations I would make to the company is to ensure the training sessions and materials are uploaded online. The company should create a portal for the staff. The portal will ensure current, and future employees have easy access to the materials. The knowledge will be updated continuously, creating a package that the company can use as a resource. The second recommendation is to focus on the technological skills of the employees. Technology is the future of competition and thus the need for further training.
