1. Before completing this assignment, review Chapter 13 of the textbook and watch the following YouTube video:

Part A: Sleep patterns are strongly influenced by an individual’s behavior(s) and
consumptions throughout the day. For THREE nights this week, use the Sleep Journal template to track your sleep patterns. Be sure to allow yourself ample time to complete this assignment. The nights you choose do not have to be consecutive. eats and drinks during the day. Use the Sleep Journal template for THREE nights this week to keep track of how you sleep. Make sure you give yourself enough time to finish this task. Your chosen nights don’t have to be in a row.
Part B: On a separate page, reflect on your experience with this exercise.
1. What did you learn about your sleep patterns? If you use a sleep-tracking
device (i.e., FitBit or Apple Watch), what insight did the device provide you on these three nights? If you tracked your patterns manually, what observations did you make about your sleep habits?

Did you notice dreams that impacted your quality of sleep? Describe.
Historically, what typically influences your sleep? Include any history of
sleep disorder.
Find one peer-reviewed research article that explores sleep patterns and
factors that impact them. Describe the findings from the study and discuss the importance of this information. Apply these findings to your experience.

● Please refer to the rubric for grading criteria.
● Length: The Sleep Journal is to be completed for three nights; the Personal
Reflection is 500 to 750 words in length, excluding the cover page and reference
page, double-spaced.
● Cover Page: Formatted to APA style (Abstract not required).
● Sleep Journal: You may use the Sleep Journal template provided electronically,
or hand write it. If you choose the latter, please scan it into a document on the
computer to be submitted.
● Body: Write the Personal Reflection in essay format. Use complete sentences
and paragraphs. Use clear transitions between paragraphs to distinguish the flow
of the paper. Please submit only one document to Turnitin.
● References: One peer reviewed journal article on the topic of sleep is required.
The textbook or other course materials must also be cited. These resources must be cited in APA format on a separate reference page.
