Thriller is the Greatest Album in the United States
The greatest album of all time in the United States is Michael Jackson’s Thriller. The release of the album changed the perceptions of people on music. According to CNBC on November 30, 2018, the Recording Industry Association of America stated that Thriller had sold over 33 million copies in the U.S alone. The Guinness World Records shows that the album has sold a minimum of 66 copies worldwide to date. These numbers showed that the album was and is still the greatest in America since the numbers of sales are still increasing.
Many artists produce albums that would not sell countrywide. An increase in sales of an album that was produced in the 1980s defines it as the best album. Thriller created the biggest cultural impact on the people who listened to it. According an article on the Independent on September 24, 2018, a survey revealed that the British people perceived Thriller album as the most inspiring. The beats and message of the songs elevate the moods of people thus motivating them. The musician put his talent and gift to work in composing Thriller, which earned its position as the greatest album of all time.
Some people may possibly argue that Thriller was a hit only in the 1980s. However, this contrasts the growing demand for the album currently. According to CNBC on November 30, 2018, music analysts are likely to suggest that recent albums such as Eagle’s Their Greatest Hits have replaced Thriller. However, this is not correct because Thriller is still recognized as the best-selling album. Also, the way people received the album and the inspiration they get from the songs maintains its position in the Music records. Therefore, Thriller remains to be the greatest album in the United States as shown by the consistent growth in sales.
