Internet health information seeking can help patients be better informed, which can lead to better health outcomes, a better utilization of health service resources, and a stronger physician-patient relationship (Kassier 2000; Murray et al 2003).

But, health information on the Internet may be misleading or misinterpreted, compromising health behaviors and health outcomes, or resulting in inappropriate requests for clinical interventions (Eysenbach, Kohler, 2002; Murray et al 2003).
